Your Face Has The Winter Blues

Having been born and raised in Chicago, you would think these winters would start getting easier to manage, but I swear it seems like they just get looonger and more dreary. Approaching my 30's next year- key word APPROACHING...I have recently noticed just how important skin care maintenance is and how much it does in fact change with the seasons. We change our clothes and shoes to maintain comfort (and of course style) with the change of seasons- so why not our skin care routines too? During the summer months my skin feels luxurious, soft, and glowy. A lot of that is thanks to Vitamin C and the Big D, that's The Vitamin I'm talking here. Vitamin D aides in skin cell growth, repair, metabolism and even helps prevent skin aging. Now, if you're one of the lucky ones- you live in a state that has natural sunlight year round, if you're a Midwesterner like myself- then you're all too familiar with the 12 consecutive days without sun, which leaves you feeling like a vampire at the slightest spotting of our long lost sunny friend. But, Lucky for us...there are ways to keep that summer glow year round and here are the products that can help.

Simple Water Boost Cleansing Wipes Target $7.00

I will be the first to admit that some nights after work, after I am cozy on the coach with my pups and a hot tea in hand- the idea of doing a full out face routine sounds horrendous. But these wipes help cut the time and energy out of full out washing and they.....drum roll please- DON'T dry my face out. Some makeup wipes I have found to be harsh and scratchy- not these bad boys though. The formula is crazy gentle

yet highly effective and leaves

your face fully hydrated and squeaky clean.

Osea Hyaluronic Sea Serumi

Osea.com $88.00

Serum is a must have in my book- and this is a light weight, non greasy and ultra hydrating option for your thirsty winter skin.

Added bonus alert: This product is Non-Toxic, Vegan and Organic.

DERMA-E Microdermabrasion Scrub

Ulta $29.00

This little baby here is one of my all time favorite products. I cant say enough good things about it. I was hesitant at first because for a scrub- I thought it was a little pricey- but its worth every penny. This isn't a product meant for your everyday regiment. I incorporate it about once a week or when I feel like my face needs a little pick-me up.

Exfoliating the dry sad winter skin cells is key to keeping your face looking and feeling fresh and after only one use

I notice a huge change in my complexion

and how my makeup applies.

First Aid Beauty-Ultra Repair Cream

Ulta $34.00

This has been my go-to cream for this winter

and it's recommended for oily or dry skin types. Its a whipped smooth texture that really sinks into your skin and leaves it feeling baby skin soft. This can also be used all over your body- so you're not only committing to a face cream with this product. Not to mention, its Antioxidant Booster- I am all about that!

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

Sephora $20.00

Now, our poor lippies sometimes get the back burner when it comes to steady winter weather care. They deserve better than that same $2.99 Chapstick we've had thrown in our purse since 2015 that has somehow managed to escape the clothes dryer. Between Matte Lipsticks and dry lip liner- my lips take a beating throughout the day and Laneige's lip sleeping mask does the "repair" work for me while I sleep, so it doesn't

get much easier than that. I have personally used

the Berry flavor- my boyfriend says its too sweet,

so if you're sensitive to flavors on your lips-

be mindful of that little point. But 10/10 recommended

for lip hydration...so pucker up ladies.
