Let's talk Mascara for our 3rd Post in our best Drugstore products blog series. Mascara is close to being my #1 MUST-HAVE beauty product at all times. But with my love for makeup-it's hard to just choose one. Mascara is composed of black pigments bonded together by a polymer and thickened by various waxes or oils. Mascara is used to lengthen, thicken, darken, and intensify your natural eyelashes, drawing more attention to your eyes. I have listed some of the best Drugstore Mascaras that I have personally tried and some ProTips and tricks for you to give a try!
Mascara Tips & Tricks
End of the tube and no back up? Loosen hardened mascara by placing the tube in a cup of hot water for a minute or two. The liquid will fall to the bottom where you can reach it with the wand.
Clumpy Mascara? (In the tube) Fix it with a few drops of Visine dripped directly into it.
Want More Volume? For seriously voluminous lashes, apply one coat of mascara, use a q-tip to dust some baby powder over your lashes, and then add another coat of mascara. I can’t believe this one really works, but it’s great!
Hard time removing waterproof mascara? Remove with ease by using coconut oil and witch hazel. It’s so gentle on the eyes!
Eyelashes Clumping? Use a clean toothbrush to unclump mascara. The toothbrush is actually a great beauty tool, so it’s a good idea to keep a few extras on hand, anyway.
Want Longer Lashes? Apply vaseline to your lashes (using an old mascara wand) to help them grow.
